Usually, after installing a new plugin, if you open the DAW it should automatically detect it and add it to the list of usable plugins.
However, in some cases, we need to help the DAW out a bit and explicity tell it to look for new or updated plugins.
Scan for new plugins #
This step is especially important if you isntalled the plugins with the DAW open, since it usually scans for new ones on startup.
- In your DAW go to the plugin manager (it’s usually called “Plugin Manager” or something very similar depending on the DAW).
- Click on “Scan for new plugins” or something similar depending on the DAW.
Check the Scanned Folders #
THR Plugins get installed to the default VST3 folders in both MacOS and Windows, which most DAWs already scan by default.
Still, in the plugin manager of each DAW make sure it is scanning the proper folders. If it’s not, then add them.
- MacOS Folder: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
- Windows Folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
Add the plugins to a track #
- Add the plugin to the desired track as an insert by searching for “THR” and the plugins should appear on the list.
- Select the one you want to add.
- Done.
